After the major fashion events worldwide had wrapped, it’s time to set up the Fall & Winter trends for 2016/2017. The biggest trends of the season are an exquisite curation from the catwalks shows staged at London, Milan, New York, and Paris Fashion Weeks by the best fashion designers and the best high-end fashion houses.

Designers looked to the recent past with looks inspired by the eighties, showing puffed shoulders to flouncy silhouettes, including the hair style from the last century.

Velvet is the bigger fabric trend for 2016/2017, but feeling fluid rather than fusty. Velvet dresses in particular were the mainstay of many a collection: ruched and sexy at Preen, more ladylike at Prada, darkly alluring at Dries Van Noten. Black was, by far, the most popular color.
